I'll try to post more often...sorry

Sorry for the radio silence gang. I've been a busy boy. I'll try to
add some to the blog more often through the fall and winter.

Selecting songs for SoundFalls in Carnation

In December my father and I, along with a couple of paddling buddies, will sing a few songs at SoundFalls in Carnation. I'm looking forward to singing The Parting Glass, Wild Rover and a few others.

Comments Now Open

As I learn more about the blog I find some silly things that lead to confusion.

Apparently the "comments" were not available to everyone. That is now changed. Everyone can comment now. Unless we get a lot of spam I'll leave it that way.

Israel 1977: Michael Ben Avi

Not sure we could have had a better tour guide than Michael...

Alaska 1976: Nome

I've always liked this shot. This was taken at Frieda Larsen's house.

Alaska '76: Ninilchik?

I think this was a sing at the high school in Ninilchik. Can anyone verify?

Masada "Downers"

TJ commented on the Masada "uppers" photo so I thought I'd
post a shot of the "downers." That was a hot day!

Caesarea 1979

The day we spent in and around Caesarea was a fascinating one. As with everything in Israel, history is thick there on the coast of the Med. For a little of this history, check out this website.

Matterhorn 1977

Some of us on this trip hiked up to the Hornli Hut on the Matterhorn. It was a spectacular day in the mountains. I think at least one person went skiing on the glacier on the other side of the valley. It is a magical place indeed.

Did we spend the night in the hut? I can't remember.

A very good friend

Digging through the archives

I've been rooting around in my piles of photos and finding some gems. Over the next few months I'll try to scan a bunch of them and get them dropped in here for your viewing pleasure. Please feel free to comment whenever you are in the mood.

The Solitude of the Land

Ask Bob about the great song he wrote about one of his wilderness paddle trips in northern Canada. Written in the style of Gordon Lightfoot.

The Brothers Four

In the spring of 2007, The Ballard Chorale opened for The Brothers Four. Here's a shot of the last note of the concert.

Floating on the Dead Sea 1977 and 1979

A conversation at work the other day got me remembering the great feeling of floating on the Dead Sea. Same day as our visit to Masada. As I recall, we did this both years.

Ballard Chorale List of Adventures...

On the right side of this page is a list of Chorale adventures with the year and the destination listed. Please comment here and tell me which ones need to be added. I'll check this post and update the list once in a while.

Practicing for the BHS Fundraiser 2007

Hard at work in the heart of Ballard...

Will you go, lassie, go?

I can't wait to read the recollections of all the Choralees out there. Please spread the word of the Ballard Chorale Blog (BCB) and we'll get this thing started. I'm just now working out how to open the posting to everyone. I'll keep you in the loop...
