"Take the picture"! How many times have we heard that? I'm trying to remember who took this picture? Bob? Brian? I love this photo of me and the guys after we reached the top of Masada. We nicknamed ourselves "The Uppers" since we were the only ones out of the group to climb up Masada rather than take the cable car up. Hoo-hoo!! Glad I had a bota bag full of Ballard water with me!!! "The Uppers" also became "The Downers" since we chose to walk back down too, but the group grew on the way back down as we were joined by several more Choralees who wanted to have this incredible experience. I have a "Masada Cable Car" ticket from our trip in 1977 and that was a great experience too, but choosing to join the guys and climb it in 1979 was one of those decisions that you look back on and think "Wow, now that was something else!" One of those memories that you never forget. I took a picture of my shoes on the front steps of the Alcazar Hotel in Jerusalem later that day. After we were home from the trip I had the photo blown up to a 16" X 24" beauty that reminds me of that VERY HOT AWESOME day in July of 1979. Now, I wonder where Kaj's frisbee is?

Oops! Unless there was a tripod involved, it wasn't Bob that took the picture.

Thanks for being the 1st one to comment. This is EXACTLY what I hope this thing to be - a bunch of memories that can build up to a chronicle of Chorale trips. A place for the memories to live and be shared.

As for the uppers and the downers, I have a shot of the downers, which I'll post right away. And you are right, the Masada hiking experience is one of those memories that stays with us for a lifetime. Very fun!
