Matterhorn 1977

Some of us on this trip hiked up to the Hornli Hut on the Matterhorn. It was a spectacular day in the mountains. I think at least one person went skiing on the glacier on the other side of the valley. It is a magical place indeed.

Did we spend the night in the hut? I can't remember.

What a place - I do remember this hike and what a beautiful day it was - Zermatt was like a place you dream about when you think of Switzerland! I don't think we stayed overnight up there, but I do remember someone (Kaj?) throwing a frisbee off the top, singing "Lassie" up there, and encountering a herd of sheep on the very steep and narrow trail on the way down..
